This course, presented by Florida Medical Association and Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, addresses the relevant laws and rules that govern physicians who intend to serve as a Medical Director for a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MMTC) in Florida. Allopathic and Osteopathic physicians who choose to serve in this capacity are required to complete this course and pass the post-test during each licensure term. This course is offered to satisfy a statutory requirement and does not reflect specific endorsement of the usage of marijuana as a medicine. CME Objectives: After completing this activity, learners will be able to:
- Discuss relevant state rules and regulations governing medical marijuana in Florida
- Identify the allowable conditions and delivery mechanisms for medical marijuana in Florida
- Recognize the legal restrictions and parameters that physicians must observe when certifying patients as eligible for medical marijuana in Florida
- Recognize the role and responsibilities assigned to a physician serving as a Medical Director for a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center in Florida.
