In Florida, newly licensed physicians are required to complete at least one HIV/AIDS training course (one credit) which addresses many of the basic treatment aspects of HIV/AIDS, including modes of transmission, infection control procedures, epidemiology, clinical management, prevention, and current Florida law (ss. 381.004 and 384.25.
This online course (recorded during the FMA's 2025 CME webinar series) is being offered not only to satisfy this initial mandatory CME requirement, but to provide all practitioners with the latest clinical endeavors to eliminate HIV transmission and reduce HIV related deaths.

• Understand HIV/AIDS epidemiology and immunopathogenesis in Florida and the United States
• Follow infection control procedures (including universal precautions)
• Recognize Florida's HIV testing statutes and the importance of routine testing for HIV infection
