This course is the fourth in a series of four modules on Emotional Intelligence. Modules 2-4 each include a brief re-cap of the previous module so learners may choose to complete some or all of these modules based on their own personal and professional goals. The intent of this series is to provide physicians with a deeper level of understanding of emotional intelligence and how emotions can drive behavior and impact people both positively and negatively. Managing emotions (both your own and those around you) can be particularly important in many professional situations like giving and receiving feedback, meeting deadlines, dealing with challenging relationships (colleagues and patients), navigating organizational change, handling negotiations and disagreements, and working through setback and conflicts. This fourth module focuses on relationship management and how strategies gained from the previous modules can be used to build trust and motivate professional teams.
Course Objectives: As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to: - Identify best practices for teams
- Understand how mutual goals, roles and an established process impact outcomes
- Recognize the impact of Emotional Intelligence on team performance, staff turnover, and occupational stressors
